Letter to the Editor: What a tangled web he weaves

If you want a president who is clearly compromised by a hostile government, that's your right. If you want a president who lies like a rug, that's your right. If you want a president who caters to racists elements and hostile governments, that's your right.
But when he can't keep a campaign promise and blames others, I have a problem with that. And when this country starts edging towards a recession, you followers of Trumpism, look no further than your nearest mirror. This "Liar-in-Chief" was all set to sign bi-partisan legislation on 12/19/2018 to keep the government open. Only after he was criticized by his band of idiots, Laura Ingram, Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity, did he refuse to sign legislation. Trump bragged on how he would not cater to special interest groups as he was rich and could sponsor his own campaign. Another lie, and the mountain gets higher. I guess he is not his own man as he would have his followers think.
It is absolutely amazing how no one in Trump's circle ever mention the illegal immigrants coming from the northern border. I wonder why this is. It has been proven that this is where most of the illegal immigrants come from. Yet Trump and his Fox News advisors only seem to demonize the brown people coming in from the southern border. Trump even said himself, he preferred immigrants coming from Norway.
The right wing fanatics are skillful at scaring their older electorate and promoting the "Chicken Little Theory." We had a saying for it while I was stationed in Germany. You keep us in the dark and feed us a bunch of bull. Well you get the idea.
But if you never remember anything else, remember this. When Trump was elected president, his party was in charge of all three branches of government. The Executive, the Legislative, and the Judicial. So what on God's green earth have they been doing for two years? I guess Trump couldn't get his Republican leadership to appropriate funds for his wall. So now that the Democrats have taken over, he wants funding for a wall.
So he shuts down the government in a show of arrogance to ignite his followers. I guess he didn't realize some of America's poorest voted for him, and he is using them as bargaining tools. Unless Trump has a slush fund for his followers, he needs to end this shutdown immediately. Mueller has Trump doing almost anything to distract from what is coming down the pike. But nevertheless, it's coming, and Trump has aged.
